Product Reviews for Tascam DP01 8-Track Hard Disk Recorder Feature: I decided to purchase the DP-01 instead of the upgraded DP-01FX because I already had an effects unit. The other things I gave up are phantom power (this unit has none) and the XLR inputs (1/4" only). Quality: reliable. Value: $700 Sound: It's impressive. As a beginner, you can't help but be pleased with any home studio product you turn out. Support: I actually had to return the first one I got for a malfuntioning input knob. No problem, no hastle.
